A topographical survey is the process required to produce an accurate and detailed layout / terrain map showing positions and levels of key features – natural and manmade – across a site.
OmegaGeo work in partnership with organisations to discuss project requirements at an early stage, advising on the most appropriate and cost effective methods and the most appropriate level of accuracy.
Used by the majority of our clients, this type of survey can be used in association with the design of new road layouts, buildings or extensions, flood risk assessments and almost any type of development, large or small. Building heights, tree location and identification, road lines, boundaries, structures and drainage etc. can be shown in the drawing as required.
OmegaGeo has been involved with many types of developments including rivers, church grounds, castle grounds, car parks, motorways, railways, and brownfield sites. We’ve conducted topographical surveys in numerous prestigious projects, including The Royal Albert Hall ‘Great Excavation’ project.
Data is captured using Total Station, GPS, laser scanning and UAV technology. Our surveys can be linked to the Ordnance Survey network or provided on an arbitrary or site datum as required to suit the project. Surveys can be supplied in 3D or 2D AutoCAD and exported in most formats for input into other modelling software, such as MOSS, Bentley MX GENIO and other user defined XYZ file masks.
